(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/11/12 -- The sinister underground of human trafficking is the centerpiece of child advocate new mystery suspense novel, published by independent press . The book follows the odyssey of a young Guatemalan boy whose journey to the United States is woven into a federal effort to bring down the kingpins of a child trafficking ring.

The mystery suspense novel, winner of the Writer's League of Texas Mystery Novel Award, is based upon Braniff's work with abused and neglected children and child immigrants over the past thirty years and on actual crimes researched through federal agencies. Her work in child advocacy brought her in regular contact with victimized children, the court process, street gangs and children caught in the dangerous world of child trafficking.
