Offering a unique fashion perspective, the "jewel of a boutique" located just inside the loop at 2602 Persa, Suite #4 showcases handpicked looks from both established and up and coming designers alike -- from , , and , to , Mother Denim, , and more.
Custom designed jewelry and one-of-a-kind finds from the travels of the shop's creative founders add a dimension to the "personal styling experience" unlike anything that currently exists in Houston.
The creative founders, internationally recognized jewelry designer Gina Cartwright and stylist Jennifer Grigsby, created a shop that accommodates each woman... individually. Open five days a week (Tuesday - Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturdays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and by appointment, the shop is designed to provide an escape from the expected, insight into personal style and forecast of coming trends.
The European styled space crowns the second floor of an unassuming building typical of this artistic part of Houston. Old world quaint and contemporary chic frame the latest collection of select pieces from featured designers. From the newest colors in British satchel classics, to the hottest jeans to hit the runway in years -- Mother Denim and TEXTILE Elizabeth and James -- brings it to Houston.
"The Cakewalk Style Shop is a physical space that embodies what we've been doing online and on a client by client basis for years. We both have a passion for stylish finds. We bring to this our talent in different specialties," said Cartwright, whose Charmed Circle custom jewelry was recently featured on the Today Show and Oprah's List of Favorite Things.
"For me, it links the past and present -- each brilliant, precious moment. The family traditions of my youth that cultivated an interest in jewelry design meld with the experiences and fashion finds I share with my daughter and friends -- and enjoy seeing in my travels today," added Cartwright.
Partner Jennifer Grigsby applies her Bachelors of Science to her "Closet-ologie" Consultation business and brings to Cakewalk Style Shop a methodology in building "key-piece" wardrobes and a "defined" uncluttered sense of self... and style.
"I like to think of what we do as 'curators of personal style,' because this is a space that inspires and speaks to each client... a little differently," said Grigsby.
