Orange County-Based Real Estate Law Firm Kicks Off New Pro Bono Initiative Providing Free Legal Assistance to Deserving Homeowners Facing Foreclosure

The program is a statewide service effort to provide legal advice and representation to veterans, senior citizens, physically disabled and mentally ill homeowners struggling with the possibility of losing their homes.
Last year saw thousands of illegal foreclosures on veterans and active duty service members, despite laws put in place to protect them from foreclosure. Additionally, those on fixed incomes due to retirement or disability are among the hardest hit in this housing crisis. Many lack the resources and the strength for dealing with a drawn out battle with the banks and often lose their homes without a fair fight.
"Avid Pro Bono Relief Program is an extension of who we are as a company. We are consumer advocates who feel that every homeowner has the right to fight to keep their home," said Aron Rofer, President, CEO and Managing Attorney for Avid Law Center. "With this initiative we are helping to ensure that homeowners receive the assistance they need, regardless of their ability to pay, to fight foreclosure successfully."
Homeowners are invited to present their case for review by an Avid Law Center attorney to determine eligibility for the program. The Avid Pro Bono Relief Program is available to veterans, active duty service members or military spouses, homeowners over 65 years of age and physically disabled or mentally ill homeowners. Eligible homeowners must express financial hardship and must provide proof of eligibility. All new Avid Law Center clients will be considered for the program if they meet the above requirements. A limited number of pro bono cases will be accepted on a monthly basis.
