Superseal Realigns Manufacturing and Distribution Operations
New Jersey Facility Converted to Distribution Center to Better Support Plans to Market Products Nationally and Internationally
(firmenpresse) - MEDFORD, WI -- (Marketwire) -- 01/04/12 -- Windows and Doors announced that its subsidiary Windows and Doors converted its South Plainfield, NJ manufacturing facility to a distribution and service center on January 3, 2012. The move is part of the company's plan, which began in early 2011, to centralize its manufacturing capability in its facility in Merrill, Wisconsin, near Superseal's parent company Hurd.
"While New Jersey will continue to be home to Superseal's distribution and warranty parts center, as well as our customer and field service operations, we felt it was critical to centrally locate the manufacturing plant as we take the Superseal brand to a national and international level," President and CEO of Hurd Windows and Doors Dominic Truniger explained. "The move makes a lot of sense as we can now utilize the existing Hurd transit lines, in addition to taking advantage of newer in the manufacturing process. This will help optimize both efficiency and cost effectiveness." A number of Superseal's products, including its casement line, are already being manufactured in the new Merrill facility, he said.
Truniger noted that Hurd is making significant investments into Superseal, including upgrading products and options, and expanding the technological sophistication of its state-of-the-art e-Bid ordering process.
In conjunction with the move, Superseal is announcing an upgraded product platform which is better aligned with Hurd . With its sights set on growing significantly and bringing a refreshingly differentiated vinyl line to the and markets, Superseal is planning a full lineup of operating styles tailored for new construction (8000 Series) or replacement (8500 Series) with ratings that are strong enough to even address light commercial work. Additionally, Superseal announced that it will again offer a builders grade .
Among other and cost-efficient offerings, the company will make available the largest selection of performance including Ultra-R™ featuring ™ suspended films. windows achieve center-of-glass R-values that range from an impressive R-6 to an unprecedented R-20. What's more, the company will offer 15 new standard painted exterior colors that are matched precisely to Hurd's standard clad colors.
Truniger said that while lead-times will be extended during the manufacturing transition in January, the company expects to quickly resume its standard 10-day lead-time.
