Raleigh Hotel Chef Kicks Tailgating Up a Notch With Spice Grilled Buffalo Style Chicken Wings
The Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley Hotel Offers a Great Recipe for Any Pre-Game Festivity
(firmenpresse) - RALEIGH, NC -- (Marketwire) -- 01/04/12 -- Now that football season is in full swing, tailgaters are no doubt getting bored with their regular fare of grilled burgers, brats, and steaks. Executive Chef Ron Salerno of the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley hotel -- who invented his own "Rib Rub" which is sold at the popular -- has created a special recipe to help tailgaters add a little spice to their next game. Here is his recipe:
5 pounds chicken wings
1/8 cup vegetable oil
1 T. black pepper
1 T. paprika
1 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp kosher salt
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp brown sugar
1 cup buffalo wing sauce
Put the chicken in a bowl and combine with all the seasoning and oil. Cover and marinate the chicken in the refrigerator at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Preheat grill to a low temperature setting and oil rack to prevent sticking. I prefer to use a charcoal grill, but the gas grill is easier to manage the temperature.
Place the chicken on the grill, cover and cook slowly for about 15 minutes. Turn chicken and brush with the buffalo wing sauce and continue to cook being careful not to burn. Turn chicken and continue to brush with sauce. Continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F (about 15 minutes).
Remove the chicken from the grill and serve.
