Angus Mitchell, Owner of the Angus Mitchell Salon and Co-Owner of Paul Mitchell Systems, Donates His Multi-Million Dollar Property in Kiholo Bay, Hawai'i to the Nature Conservancy

The idyllic seven-acre parcel, located at on the of the , is home to historic fishponds and dozens of green sea turtles. It was once part of the landholdings of . Paul Mitchell, who acquired the land in late 1980s while battling cancer, intended to build his dream home there, but died in 1989 before realizing his vision.
"My dad shared his love of Hawai'i with me and I fell in love with this beautiful land," said Angus. "This parcel was my father's Eden -- his Shangri-La. He thought it was the most beautiful spot on Earth, as do I. This land evokes a wonderful spiritual energy and beauty, and I believe I can best serve his intentions by having this land protected in perpetuity."
The Kiholo Bay parcel abuts and a few small private landholdings and is a culturally important site to native Hawaiians. It is currently under the stewardship of the non-profit group .
Kiholo Bay is located along one of the most beautiful and remote stretches of coastline on the Big Island of Hawai'i. Indeed, the area was once coveted by Hawaiian chiefs for its productive nearshore reefs and offshore fisheries, its fishponds and anchialine pools.
For the younger Mitchell, this is the second donation of Hawai'i lands once owned by his father. In 1999, he donated a significant cultural site, also located on the Big Island of Hawai'i, to the .
Angus Mitchell, 41, has followed his father into the hair care industry. He is the Owner of Angus Mitchell Salons and Co-Owner of , a multi-million dollar enterprise that trains future stylists and markets professional hair care products. He is married to Director of Business Development of the Angus Mitchell Companies.
