Statement by Public Safety Minister on the Removal of Third Individual on CBSA 'Wanted' List for Serious Criminality
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 12/22/11 -- The Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety, applauded the Canada Border Services Agency after the removal of Orrett O'Neil Brock who was apprehended earlier this year by . Mr. Brock is the third person from the CBSA's Most Wanted list for serious criminality to be removed since it was introduced on August 18, 2011.
"This removal sends a strong message that Canada's doors are not open to those who have broken the law and have endangered the safety of our citizens, said Minister Toews. "The Government of Canada does not tolerate those who come to this country and who have committed crimes and I am pleased this serious convicted criminal will no longer pose a threat to the safety of Canadians and our communities.
Our Government is committed to removing individuals who are inadmissible because there are reasonable grounds to believe they have been complicit in war crimes or crimes against humanity and those who have been convicted for acts of serious criminality. I would like to reiterate my thanks to Canadians and to Canadian law enforcement agencies for their ongoing support of our efforts to find individuals who are hiding in Canada and committing serious crimes."
