Raritan Veterinarians Announce Assistance With Common and Holiday Pet Emergencies
(firmenpresse) - RARITAN, NJ -- (Marketwire) -- 12/21/11 -- , Animerge has announced that they are accepting pet patients suffering from common pet emergencies and holiday pet emergencies. The pet emergency clinic veterinarians are led by medical director Dean Newton, DVM. The staff at Animerge includes veterinarians who are prepared to meet any emergency needs that your pet may have. Additional Animerge staff members include veterinary specialists who are trained in pet dermatology, internal medicine, and ophthalmology. Although the clinic focuses primarily on emergency services, Animerge veterinary specialists take referrals from other for dermatology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, and surgical patients at any time as well.
are placing a special focus on common pet emergencies that happen year round and holiday emergencies. According to Dr. Dean Newton, "We are a dedicated pet emergency facility, and we want to be sure that pet owners know we are available to help with urgent care of all types around the clock -- from the holiday emergency where your pet got into the candy to the surgical emergency of a broken bone. The upcoming holidays tend to bring additional pet emergencies with them, so we want to let pet owners know that our is here to meet those urgent care needs."
Pet emergencies commonly seen by the Animerge staff include situations when pets have ingested a food, substance, or other item that was not meant for them. Pets of any age, from puppies to seniors, may eat "off limits" items occasionally, according to the Animerge staff.
Although foods like holiday candy or cookies are a common temptation for pets (especially dark chocolate, which is highly toxic for pets) some pets have been known to eat socks or items that are harmful to their digestion. Depending upon the item or food eaten, pets are treated by either clearing their stomach of the toxic substance or, where required, surgical removal of the item.
Other common situations that are brought into the emergency veterinary clinic include sudden illness that may include pet collapse, refusal to eat or drink, lethargy, and vomiting. In cases where the illness is of an undetermined nature, the Animerge staff will pinpoint the origin of the problem and treat the underlying issue.
The Animerge staff is prepared to perform surgery when the need arises, another common that happens at holiday time and year round. Surgery may be necessary to set broken bones, to resolve intestinal blockages, or for birthing and delivery problems.
Each of the Animerge veterinarians and veterinary surgeons is board certified and there will be one or more veterinarians available at the clinic 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Animerge facility can coordinate with a client's regular veterinarian to import pet records and states that they are willing to work with pet parents to provide the best in emergency care for animals.
