Spellbinders Paper Arts Patent Upheld by U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
Company to Receive Reexamination Certificate

The company is pleased to announce that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) has issued a Notice of Intent to Issue Ex Parte Reexamination Certificate in the reexamination of U.S. Patent No.7,469,634, for an "Apertured Media Embellishing Template and System and Method Using the Same." The reexamination was initiated by attorneys for QuicKutz, Inc.
Through this Notice, issued November 21, 2011, the PTO has confirmed the patentability of all claims currently under consideration in the reexamination proceeding. Claims 18, 19, 21-23, 28-31, 33 and 35 were confirmed in the same form as originally issued.

The patent has survived and been confirmed as originally submitted for our entire line of die templates.
