Eneco Starts Work on Dutch Biomass Plant, an Industrial Info News Alert
(firmenpresse) - GALWAY, IRELAND -- (Marketwire) -- 12/05/11 -- Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) -- Dutch energy firm Eneco (Rotterdam, Netherlands) has started construction on a biomass plant in the municipality of Delfzijl in the northeast of the Netherlands.
The newly named Eneco Bio Golden Raand plant, which will boast a generating capacity of 49.9 megawatts (MW) when completed in the third quarter of 2013, will burn approximately 300,000 tons of wood chips from recycled waste wood. The electricity produced will be enough to power around 120,000 households.
The contract for the plant was awarded to the AMB consortium, comprising the renewables division of French nuclear reactor manufacturer, (EPA: CEI) (Paris, France), construction company Ballast Nedam (The Netherlands) and Finnish biomass boiler specialist, (PINK: MXCYY) (Helsinki, Finland). The contract is valued at EUR 155 million ($209 million).
