6th-Grader's Cozy Cup of Cocoa Wins Tysons Corner Hotel's Holiday Card Contest
(firmenpresse) - TYSONS CORNER, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/02/11 -- Tysons Corner Marriott will spread holiday cheer with a joyful, vibrant greeting card designed by a student from Churchill Road Elementary School in McLean, Va.
Rose, a 6th-grader from McLean, submitted an illustration of cheery marshmallows dunking in a steaming cup of cocoa in front of a roaring fire to win the top spot in the fourth annual Greeting Card Contest. Students from Churchill Road Elementary School were invited to enter art that reflected a winter scene.
"We value and support the talents of the young people in our community and the work local educators do to nurture it," says Shelly DiMeglio the general manager of the , one of more than 500 Marriott Hotels & Resorts properties worldwide. "We have as much fun selecting the winning art for this contest as the students do creating it."
Along with the coveted spot on the front of the hotel's greeting card, Rose won a Weekend Getaway one-night stay at Tysons Corner Marriott and breakfast for up to four people at Shula's Steak House, located in the . Two runners-up, Gloria and Emma, both 6th-graders from McLean, each won breakfast for up to four people at Shula's. Prizes will be awarded during a ceremony at the school on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011.
