WINN NTF National Conference
(firmenpresse) - HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/01/11 -- Over 270 senior practicing nurses, nursing managers, educators, students, human resource managers, professional associations, government and union representatives from across Canada are gathering in Halifax Nov. 30-Dec 2nd at the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel. The 7th annual Workplace Integration of New Nurses Conference will bring together professionals from numerous practice areas to review and discuss current research and workplace initiatives that support the professional role transition of nurses. The conference incorporates numerous sessions including an opening keynote address by Laura Archer discussing nurses as change agents in the 21st century. In addition, Gopi Patel, a UK based speaker and coordinator of the International Youth Forum, will discuss ways to renew the vision and strategy of nursing. Also this year, the conference will wrap with a presentation by the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union discussing strategies to create a bully free work environment.
The WINN (Workplace Integration of New Nurses) initiative started in 2004 by a group of Manitoba nursing leaders and has seen a tremendous momentum over the past 7 years. Recently, WINN joined forces with one of the fastest growing non-profit healthcare organizations in Canada - Nursing the Future. Also initiated in 2004, this organization is the only support network outside of the workplace that provides knowledge about, and support for, graduates making their transition to professional nursing practice.
