ID: 1062130

(firmenpresse) - SINGAPORE -- (Marketwire) -- 12/01/11 -- Blue Coat Systems (Blue Coat) has been awarded the 2011 Frost & Sullivan Japan Market Share Leadership Award for WAN Optimization. Part of the 2011 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Best Practices Awards programme, this award is presented to the company that has demonstrated excellence in capturing the highest market share within its industry in 2010.

The award recipient is determined based on industry participants' Market Share, Revenue and revenue growth, Growth Strategy & Implementation Excellence Portfolio Diversity, and Degree of Innovation with Products and Technologies.

"In 2010, Blue Coat accounted for a total market share of 32.6 percent of the overall Japanese WAN optimization controller market which comprises both the WAN acceleration and WAN traffic management segments," said Tetsuya Niihara, ICT Industry Analyst, Frost & Sullivan.

He added, "Blue Coat's success could be attributed to the well-established reputation of its WAN traffic management product, the Packet Shaper, which continued to enjoy strong adoption among Japanese enterprises. The stronger demand for traffic management solutions in a high-bandwidth country like Japan helped to enhance the value proposition offered by the Packet Shaper. In addition, the vendor also witnessed growing traction for its WAN acceleration offering, the MACH5."
