Helen Pastorino of Pertria Selected to Speak at Leadership Conference for High School Students
(firmenpresse) - LOS GATOS, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/30/11 -- Helen Pastorino, President and founder of Pertria, a real estate firm investment firm, has been selected as the keynote speaker at the 2012 Enterprise Leadership Conference sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Santa Clara, Saratoga, Sunnyvale and Campbell, CA.
Designed to enhance the leadership skills of the outstanding high school students in attendance, this event follows a 25-year Rotary Club tradition. The participants learn the opportunities, benefits, and challenges of establishing a business of their own or providing services in free enterprise systems.
During the conference, the 60 specially selected local high school juniors will create virtual businesses and develop a deeper understanding about the major factors involved with owning a company, simultaneously developing networks for the future, as well as lifelong friends.
Invited by the Rotary Club of Santa Clara members and conference co-chairs, Steve Rainbolt and Miles Barber, Ms. Pastorino will open the conference discussing leadership, a topic with which she has extensive experience.
"I am very much looking forward to speaking at this conference for our excellent local high school students," said Pastorino. "Today's business world is uncertain and constantly changing, something I deal with on a day-to-day basis. These students are our future leaders and I hope to impart to them some of the wisdom I have gained over my career in the real estate industry."
At last year's conference, Paula E. Pacheco, Chairperson of the Enterprise Leadership Conference, was asked by an attendee why the volunteers go to so much trouble putting on the event. She answered: "We, as elders, try to pass on wisdom learned to the next generation coming along. It is our hope that your journey might not then be as rocky as ours was. It is simply human nature to want better for the generations that follow us."
