Discussion Will Address the Science and Business of Solving Neurodegenerative Diseases
(firmenpresse) - CAMBRIDGE, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/30/11 -- On December 14, 2011 the will present an Innovation Series event: "Defeating Alzheimer's." The disease devastates the lives of 25 to 40 million people worldwide -- a number projected to quadruple in the coming decades. There are no FDA-approved medicines currently that can significantly modify the course of the disease or any effective means for early detection and diagnosis, although significant research continues to find a cure.
Neurodegeneration is among the most costly and risky areas of drug development and yet presents high levels of reward. Alzheimer's is an area of tremendous scientific promise and presents an exciting business opportunity.
