Minister Ashfield Launches the Canadian Coast Guard 50th Anniversary Web Site
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/29/11 -- The Honourable Keith Ashfield, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, invites all Canadians to help celebrate the upcoming 50th Anniversary of the Canadian Coast Guard by visiting the new Web site.
"The men and women of the Canadian Coast Guard have served our country for almost 50 years," said Minister Ashfield. "The 50th anniversary Golden Jubilee year in 2012 is an opportunity for Canadians from coast to coast to coast to recognize the proud men and women of the Canadian Coast Guard for keeping our waters safe and secure."
On January 26, 2012, the Canadian Coast Guard will officially mark 50 years of dedicated service. Events to commemorate this important milestone will be held throughout the year, in communities across the country.
The Golden Jubilee Web Site also features the history of the Canadian Coast Guard, information on its plans for the future, a selection of wallpapers, as well as a calendar of events. Throughout the year, photos and videos will be added to the Web site, as well as to Canadian Coast Guard social media sites.
