Thousands of Canadians are mobilizing across the country in more than 120 local events starting on Thursday November 24 to Stand Against the Crime Bill, part of two national days of action to oppose the Conservative's Omnibus Crime Bill, Bill C-10. Most of the events will take place at MP's constituency offices across Canada on Thursday, November 24 at 1PM with additional events on Friday, November 25.

Canadians will be wearing cowboy gear to call attention to the fact that American states, like Texas, have tried and failed to reduce crime by putting more people in jail with longer sentences. Republican lawmakers and judges from Texas are now warning Canada not to repeat their mistake. Texas is now investing in crime prevention and rehabilitation, while Canada is ignoring the evidence that more jails, more prisoners, and longer sentences create a more dangerous society - not a safer one.

What:

MP's will be presented with a petition organized by Leadnow.ca with over 24,000 signatures, and a copy of the Canadian Bar Association's damming 10-point critique of the Omnibus Crime Bill.

Who:
