Kelly Engineering Resources(R) Awards Three Academy of Engineering Grants
(firmenpresse) - TROY, MI -- (Marketwire) -- 11/23/11 -- Kelly Engineering Resources (KER®), a technical staffing service of Kelly Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: KELYA) (NASDAQ: KELYB), partnered with the National Academy Foundation (NAF) to award grants to three NAF engineering high school academies throughout the United States. This is the fourth year that KER and NAF worked together to support engineering academies.
Engineering Academies located in New Orleans, Miami, and Queens, New York, each received a $2,000 grant to help fund a specific school engineering project. To qualify, administrators from NAF engineering high school academies completed an application detailing a specific engineering project, including the impact the project would have on a student's learning experience. Grant proposals were reviewed by a panel of judges from Kelly Engineering Resources and awarded to the three schools with projects that best met the criteria of enhancing the current curriculum.

Purchase technology necessary (completing Engineering curriculum) to utilize solar panels donated to school in 2009
The National Academy Foundation (NAF) is an acclaimed network of career-themed academies that open doors for underserved high school students to viable careers. For nearly 30 years, NAF has refined a proven model that provides young people access to industry-specific curricula, work-based learning experiences, and relationships with business professionals. NAF academies focus on one of four career themes: finance, hospitality & tourism, information technology, and engineering.
