New York Credit Union Helps Make RCC's International Student Thanksgiving a Success
(firmenpresse) - SUFFERN, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 11/18/11 -- Over 100 individuals including students, faculty, volunteers and community leaders came together to celebrate the 24th annual International Student Thanksgiving Luncheon at Rockland Community College on Wednesday afternoon. The event which was sponsored by Palisades has been a longstanding tradition at the college and provides RCC's international students an opportunity to learn about American customs and share in Thanksgiving traditions.
The luncheon which took place in RCC's Student Union building was created to help assimilate the international students into the American lifestyle. Being that the majority of the international students will be away from their families this holiday season, the annual event allows them to unite for support and companionship.
"We've been supporting the college for years and we're delighted to have had the opportunity to help these students representing over 50 countries once again," said Mark Welshoff, President & CEO of the . "We congratulate the faculty and administrators at RCC for executing another successful event and continuing to support our Rockland county community." The NY Credit Union generously provided funds and volunteers for this holiday event.

The Thanksgiving holiday meal was prepared fresh by students in the College's Hospitality Program using Turkeys donated by the DeCicco Family Markets.
