NADP Launches Digital Advocacy Campaign, KeepOurCoverage.com
(firmenpresse) - WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwire) -- 11/16/11 -- Today, the National Association of Dental Plans (NADP) launched a digital advocacy campaign -- KeepOurCoverage.com -- to ensure the U.S. Health and Human Services Department (HHS) allows "stand-alone" dental policies of Americans insured by small businesses to meet the requirements of the Essential Health Benefits Package for children's pediatric coverage.
The practical and political stakes could not be higher; 43.7 million employees and dependents through 1.65 million small businesses have dental health policies that are now vulnerable to disruption when the Exchanges become effective in 2014. In fact, 98% of all dental policies today are separate from medical coverage. The NADP 2011 Group Purchaser Behavior Study reveals more than 80 percent of all companies surveyed are likely to invest in -- or continue -- offering health benefits, including dental coverage, outside the Exchange.
The digital campaign will make clear that in order to deliver on the promise made by the Obama Administration that Americans can keep their current coverage and doctors; regulatory clarity is desperately needed within the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to protect these small business consumers' access to the dental plans they now enjoy whether purchasing coverage in the private market or through Exchanges.
"Parents employed by small business should have the same choices in dental policies as their peers in large firms," said Evelyn Ireland, NADP's Executive Director. "The KeepOurCoverage.com campaign will demonstrate HHS has the authority to fix the regulatory uncertainty, and NADP has given policy makers the road map on how to do it."
