Zacuto Original Web Series, FilmFellas, Wins 2011 Emmy
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 11/15/11 -- On November 6th, 2011, at the Chicago/Midwest 53rd Annual Emmy Awards, Zacuto Films won another Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Interview/Discussion Programming with their web series, . This is the second Emmy nomination for FilmFellas and the second Emmy win for Zacuto Films. The first win was last year for The Great Camera Shootout 2010.
"This may sound cliché but it really is awesome to be recognized for doing something we love to do. I'm astonished that we are competing with and beating broadcast shows," says FilmFellas Producer and DP . "The lines are blurring fast."
Bogehegn said in his acceptance speech, "We thank our friends in Hollywood that we interviewed for FilmFellas, , , and for their weight behind us and Zacuto films. We couldn't have done it without you."
FilmFellas Producer/Director said in his acceptance speech, "We just want to say to our indie filmmakers all around the world that web TV is here and this Emmy proves it."
The fact that FilmFellas, a completely web based show, beat out other broadcast shows for the Emmy is a great testament to the fact that web based programming or "Web TV" as Weiss likes to call it, is really starting to earn the respect it deserves. Zacuto Films has been a pioneer for Internet based programming since 2008 when the first webisode of FilmFellas aired.
"FilmFellas was my first webisodic series. I learned so much about creating web shows while cutting our chops on this series," says Weiss. "When we started this we were blazing new trails and we had no idea what we were doing. It's still one of my favorite projects and I love the concept and lighting that Jens did. It's just a great way to peer into a conversation and it's easy to feel like you are there."
