Leading Healthy-Living Company Sponsors Sneaker Week for Nonprofit Back on My Feet

(firmenpresse) - PHILADELPHIA, PA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/11/11 -- Do cross-trainers go with pleated trousers? GlobalFit, the Philadelphia-based company that drives employee wellness through promoting physical activity, is taking that fashion risk by sponsoring Sneaker Week. Sneaker week is a first-ever event benefiting Back on My Feet, the national nonprofit organization that uses running as a vehicle to promote self-sufficiency among those experiencing homelessness.

The campaign is simple -- in exchange for a $5 donation to Back on My Feet, an employee at any participating company can wear sneakers to work during the week of November 14 through 18. Companies can register for free on Back on My Feet's . Reports Anne Mahlum, founder and CEO of Back on My Feet, "Companies in Idaho, Washington State, California, Florida and more are all asking employees to lace up their sneakers and join our movement to change the perception of homelessness."

To GlobalFit President and CEO Frank Napolitano, the sponsorship seems a natural fit. "Our core belief has always been that physical activity changes lives for the better," said Napolitano, "and few have experienced that transformation as powerfully as the men and women who've 'graduated' from Back on My Feet's program."
