Allergy Alert/CFIA: Undeclared Milk in Certain Lamontagne Brand Chocolate Products

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Chocolat Lamontagne inc. are warning people with allergies to milk not to consume the chocolate products described below. The affected products may contain milk which is not declared on the label.
The following Lamontagne brand products are affected by this alert:
These products have been distributed nationally between October 4th and November 4th, 2011, and were sold through catalogues for fund-raising activities at daycares, schools, clubs, and associations.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk.
The manufacturer, Chocolat Lamontagne inc., is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
