WHAT: After being selected to write the theme song for the 2012 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships being held in Calgary and Edmonton from December 26 - January 5, 2012, Country Music Superstar Paul Brandt is gearing up for the debut of the highly anticipated track "I Was There."
Hockey fans, parents and teams are invited to come out and sport their favourite colours while joining in on the festivities, and will have the opportunity to share their favourite "I Was There" moment via several kiosks that will be relayed on a big screen. In addition to Brandt's inaugural "I Was There" live performance, attendees will hear from former World Junior player(s).

WHY: The recently-recorded theme song will capture the spirit of hockey, as well as the significance of the sport from a uniquely Albertan perspective, and seeks to broaden the scope of the World Juniors.
