How do we meet the challenge of homelessness and address the need for affordable housing in our city?
That will be the focus of a free public debate in Vancouver between incumbent mayor and Vision candidate, Gregor Robertson and NPA mayoral candidate, Suzanne Anton.
As the upcoming November 19th election raises other issues for voter consideration, this will be the only debate devoted exclusively to homelessness and affordable housing in Vancouver.
"The last time we hosted a similar debate ONE THOUSAND people CAME out to watch," said Don Evans, Co-Chair, End Homelessness Now. "We expect as many this time around for a lively informative debate that may help voters make decisions in the upcoming election."
Stephen Quinn, CBC host and columnist, will moderate the debate. Panelists Francis Bula, freelance journalist specializing in urban issues and city politics, Mike Howell, civic affairs reporter for The Vancouver Courier and Patrick Stewart, Chair of the Aboriginal Homeless Steering Committee in BC, will provide questions to the candidates. Audience members may provide written questions for the moderator or panel to consider.
