The Georgia Licensed Beverage Association (GALBA) Is Now the Independent Restaurant & Bar Association of Georgia (IRBAG)
(firmenpresse) - ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/03/11 -- GALBA Founder and President, Ron Wolf, has joined forces with prominent Savannah restaurateur, Pino Venetico, to form the new Independent Restaurant & Bar Association of Georgia. Venetico will serve as President for the new organization, while Wolf will serve as Vice-Chair. Warren Bruno will remain Chairman of IRBAG. IRBAG is a non-profit trade association whose members are independent restaurant and bar owner/operators, and industry vendors throughout the State of Georgia. "IRBAG will represent the interests of members throughout Georgia giving a strong voice to the independent operators in an arena that is dominated by national franchise and chain operators. IRBAG was formed to represent the interests of the independent operator in local and state legislative and executive matters confronting bars and restaurants," said Venetico.
IRBAG will work to encourage and promote food safety and the responsible sale of beverage alcohol through effective communications to all appropriate constituencies, provide innovative member services, create cost effective and economical education and training opportunities and initiate and support laws that preserve and protect the rights of responsible retailers to operate legitimate and lawful businesses. In addition, IRBAG will provide support to members as they navigate the local regulatory maze as they expand their businesses. Further, IRBAG will focus resources to serve Atlanta's dynamic ethnic restaurant community.
In recent weeks, IRBAG has strengthened its membership benefit offerings with a full line of insurance products through Global Financial Services; competitively priced payroll services provided by Paychex; and a full line of merchant services through Payscape Advisors. IRBAG will continue to offer GALBA's popular legal hotline.
IRBAG Chairman of the Board Warren Bruno said, "Our industry needs a strong and active group to assure a vibrant and thriving industry, where patrons can enjoy their favorite food & beverages with friends without onerous government involvement. IRBAG will be our voice to help keep our industry strong as the responsible restaurateurs and alcoholic license beverage holders." A prominent Atlanta restaurateur, Bruno is perhaps best known as the founder of one of Atlanta's oldest eateries -- Atkins Park. Bruno is also founder of one of West Atlanta's newest and most talked about new restaurants, Ormsby's.
Venetico is a veteran restaurateur, founding the award-winning Il Pasticcio restaurant in Savannah, GA., one of the top Italian restaurants in the nation. Il Pasticcio closed earlier this year in the wake of the failure of unrelated real estate investments by the owners. Venetico also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Restaurant Association and headed the Savannah Chapter for two years.
