Worst Places to Break Down Revealed
(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 11/02/11 -- Research into breakdown cover policy ownership among car, van and motorbike owners has revealed that 64.81% of consumers have been involved in some sort of accident in their vehicle. Of these incidents, 8.57% involved an uninsured driver.
The survey also revealed a number of insights into consumer breakdown experiences, including the worst deemed places and locations to experience a vehicle breaking down. 73.61% of consumers explained that they had broken down at some point in their lives whilst driving their car, van or motorcycle. Of the consumers that had broken down, 35.53% found that the side of the road was the worst place to do so. 23.86% of consumers deem the motorway to be the worst location to break down in their vehicle, with a further 9.64% choosing the dual carriageway as the most feared breakdown location.

Consumers were then asked whether they were covered by a breakdown insurance policy. Of those who took part in the survey, 87.78% confirmed that they are policy holders. Of the remaining 11.85% who were not covered, many claimed that they could not afford to take out a policy of this nature.
