Minister Raitt Recognizes New Collective Agreements for MTS Allstream Workers

(firmenpresse) - SAN SALVADOR, EL SALVADOR -- (Marketwire) -- 11/01/11 -- The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Labour Minister, today congratulated MTS Allstream for sucessfully ratifying new collective agreements with both the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP), Local 7, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 435.

"I commend all of the parties on working closely together to reach these new agreements," said Minister Raitt. "Strong labour-management relations benefit the economic prosperity and security of Canadians."

The previous collective agreement with CEP expired in December 2010 and represents a unit of approximately 1 240 clerical staff and operators working within Manitoba. IBEW represents a unit of approximately 765 maintenance employees, whose previous collective agreement expired in January 2011.
