(firmenpresse) - LONDON, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/01/11 -- The Friends of Veterans Canada charity (#850084918) is in need of your attention for the "Sing for Veterans Hospital Tour". We have been gathering veterans stories since 2008. As a vehicle to reach young Canadians, our charity set up the "Sing for Veterans Talent Search" at Harris Park in London Ontario this past Labour Day. Our hope is/was to bridge the generation GAP through music and to find the singers to sing our original veteran's songs. As a result of the contest we crowned, RJ Latter (17) and Alex DeVries (17) who will sing our songs for our Veterans.

The "Friends of Veterans Singers" will be touring Canada and are booked to perform on November 2, 2011 at the Perley Rideau Hospital and on November 3, 2011 at the Rotunda on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. We can and will book additional shows across Canada for Veterans as we raise the donation funds for traveling expenses. We will be adding Christmas songs to our program after Remembrance Week.

Our goals of our hospital shows are to show veterans that we are thinking of them more than just one day a year and give them some attention at this time of year, and possibly gather additional veterans stories for the "Harry Watts Veterans Video Library".

Many of our veterans in hospitals, need this gift of a visit from young singers that care, and may be just what the doctor ordered.

The Friends of Veterans Canada will be continuing our mission in 2012, of video taping every Canadian veteran that is willing to tell their story. Canadians will see the launch of the "Veterans for Veterans Campaign 2011". We will be hiring Afghanistan veterans to video tape older veterans stories within their own province. The purpose of this project is to give Afghanistan veterans a worthwhile fulfilling job and to continue growing the video library.

Our motto is:

"Let those who come after not let their names be forgotten".

We are available for interviews.
