Chairman of the Board Welcomed Into Prestigious Circle of Distinguished Leaders by the International Corrugated Packaging Foundation

Today, the company was recognized for its history when The Strive Group's visionary founder, Richard Sharfstein, 79, was inducted into the International Corrugated Packaging Foundation's (ICPF) Circle of Distinguished Leaders. The Circle is a prestigious group of business people whose vision, creativity and energy have driven the corrugated industry forward.
Sharfstein has more than six decades of experience in the corrugated packaging industry, in which he has played a significant role. With his father, Robert (Bob) Sharfstein, he co-founded The Strive Group, which was then known as Pride Container Group, in 1968. The company manufactured high-end corrugated products, including point-of-purchase (POP) displays and graphically enhanced packaging. After several decades of continued growth, the company expanded in the 1990s with two objectives: to stay ahead of significant shifts in market dynamics and to grow vertically within the POP industry.
Sharfstein served as president of the company until 1997 and in 2000 he became chairman of the board, a position he currently holds. Sharfstein's sons, Jeff and Doug, serve in the roles of CEO and President, respectively.
Today, Strive connects brands with shoppers by supporting clients throughout the entire . The company's innovative solutions help clients get products and displays to market faster and enable them to mix-and-match displays for reduced obsolescence, while adhering to standards.

Sharfstein and fellow-inductee Jack Schwarz, founder of Schwarz Partners, were honored at an induction ceremony this morning at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, UT; they join Bill Akers Sr. who was inducted into the Circle earlier this year. Sharfstein was nominated through donations made in his name to ICPF by Akers Packaging Service, Liberty Diversified, Bates Container, GREIF and FBA. Additional donations to ICPF are being accepted in Sharfstein's name until the end of October.
