90 Percent of Graduates Would Recommend Higher Education to A-Level Students, Says reed.co.uk
The Jobs Site Finds That of University Graduates Surveyed, 90 Percent Feel Their Experience was Enough to Encourage 18 Year Olds to Apply for a Degree
(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 10/27/11 -- A survey focusing on attitudes towards university study and its importance to employment has found that nine out of every ten graduates would recommend university to students currently studying for A-levels, according to reed.co.uk.
The , which hosts opportunities by region, such as , as well as by sector, such as construction, sales and IT, surveyed over 1,000 individuals, nearly 700 of whom attended university.
When questioned over the advice and support they would give to younger members of society considering university, the response was overwhelmingly positive.
Although, given their time again, nearly 50% of graduates would choose a different degree, they were almost 100% unanimous on the importance of their degree in contributing to their personal development. 90% of graduates were sure they would encourage A-level students to pursue higher education.
However, not all the news from the survey was positive: attitudes towards relevance and higher education were mixed.
Whilst 55% of graduates felt their university education had better equipped them for the workplace, only 34% described their degree as indispensible to gaining their first job.
Mark Rhodes of comments:
"Despite the rising costs of a university education and the often gloomy take on the market seen in the media, today's graduates still advocate the importance of their degrees.
"Three years or more studying in a university environment can have real benefits in terms of character and personal development, not to mention the value of a good degree. Combine this with a flexible, resilient and open-minded approach to finding work and it's not hard to see why employers continue to value the most successful graduates so highly."
