Kingsway Shares in Rochdale's Development Success
A Recent Annual Review by Rochdale's Development Agency Showed Rochdale's Success in a Subdued Market, and Kingsway Business Park has Played a Large Role in the Success of Industrial Units in Manchester.
(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 10/27/11 -- Rochdale Development Agency (RDA) held a meeting to brief regional agents and local businesses on the exciting development opportunities within units to let in Rochdale, and discussed the successes outlined in their annual review.
Despite a subdued market across most of the UK, demand for industrial units in Manchester and the surrounding area is strong, and Rochdale has performed particularly well. Over the past 18 months, four of the largest commercial property deals in the North West were in the Rochdale borough.
Kingsway has played a large part in this strong performance, enjoying successes not just locally but also nationally. Two of the four large deals mentioned by the RDA were on Kingsway and are both great opportunities for the Rochdale area. The first, a deal with JD Sports, involves 616,000 sqft for a distribution unit, and the second is a proposed chilled distribution facility for ASDA involving 500,000 sqft of both warehousing and office units.
Additional recent successes which have helped to demonstrate the popularity of industrial units in Manchester and its surrounding areas, and more specifically of Kingsway as a prime location, include deals with E-ON and Edmund Bell. E-ON, one of the UK's leading energy suppliers, has moved into a 20,000 sqft unit next door on a 15 year lease, showing a commitment to Kingsway as a great location.
High-end fabric manufacturer Edmund Bell has bought a unit totalling nearly 33,000sqft for a relocation from Yorkshire. They selected Kingsway Business Park for its easy access to the M62 and the quality of the units on offer, which are in a ready to occupy state and offer great facilities and space.
That such high-profile household names have chosen Kingsway Business Park, and Rochdale in general, as a location is testament to the strength of the market for as well as Kingsway's ability to offer attractive spaces with a range of free business support options.
