Ethan M. Flaherty Joins Cartera Commerce as General Counsel
(firmenpresse) - LEXINGTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/25/11 -- , the leading provider of card-linked marketing solutions, today announced the appointment of Ethan M. Flaherty as General Counsel. Flaherty joins Cartera's management team to support the company's rapid growth. Previously, Flaherty was one of Cartera's primary outside legal advisors, having represented the company since its formation in 2005 on a range of matters.
Flaherty, 40, was named to the Massachusetts Rising Stars list by Law & Politics and New England Super Lawyers every year from 2005 through 2011 -- a distinction given to only the top 2.5 percent of up-and-coming attorneys in Massachusetts.
Flaherty joins Cartera from Pabian & Russell, LLC, where he was a partner and managed the firm's business and corporate practice, concentrating in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate financings, complex commercial contracts, licensing, joint ventures, and private placements of securities for emerging growth businesses. Prior to joining Pabian & Russell at its inception in March 2005, Ethan was an associate in the Boston office of Nixon Peabody LLP and in the Boston office of Keegan Werlin & Pabian, LLP.

Flaherty graduated from Brown University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and earned his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1996. He served as an executive editor of The Georgetown International Environmental Law Review and was a member of the American Inns of Court. Flaherty was admitted to the bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1996, is a member of the Boston Bar and Massachusetts Bar Associations and was formerly president of the Brown University Club of Boston.
