Mint Coin Exchange With the New Parks Canada Centennial Loonie

On October 21, 2011, from 10 am to noon, Parks Canada and the Royal Canadian Mint invite the public to trade in their loose change to obtain the new Parks Canada Centennial Loonie during National Science and Technology Week celebrations at the Brighouse Science Bash at the Brighouse (Main) Library.
The one-dollar circulation coin commemorating the 100th birthday of Parks Canada is the first of the new 'Our Legendary Nature' five-coin series by the Mint, celebrating Canadians' pride in their natural and cultural heritage and captures their enduring love for the great outdoors. It will be followed by the two-dollar Boreal Forest, and 25-cent coins featuring the Wood Bison, Orca, and Peregrine Falcon, all of which are found in Parks Canada places.
Established in 1911, Parks Canada was the world's first national park service. Ever since, Parks Canada has been a world leader in protecting and preserving natural and historic treasures and providing visitors with memorable experiences.
