The Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce Names Helen Han as New Chief Executive Officer
Helen Han Takes Reign of an 87-Year-Old Membership Organization That Has Shaped the Lives of Thousands of Young Professionals Through Leadership Development, Community Service and Professional Enrichment
(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/20/11 -- The Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce (LAJCC) Board of Directors proudly names Helen Han as their new Chief Executive Officer.

Helen is a leader, with deep knowledge and expertise in the area of nonprofit management and has a proven record of taking an organization from one stage of growth to the next," says 2011-12 Board Chair, Traci Torok of Covington Capital Management. "The LAJCC is poised for tremendous growth and we are so happy to welcome Helen to lead this organization into our organization's next evolution."
Han's professional background spans over two decades in diverse settings within the entrepreneurial, academic and nonprofit community at the local, regional and national level. At each juncture of her professional career, Han has a proven record of delivering sustainable impact that contributed significantly to the success of the organization and the communities it serves.
Most recently, Han served as President & CEO of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and before that as the Chief Executive Officer of its Los Angeles Chapter (NAWBO-LA). Prior to her work with NAWBO, Han served as a leader of an interdisciplinary service, research and training team as the Sr. Program Manager at the Price Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. In the 1990s Helen started a preschool in the San Fernando Valley where she directly impacted the early childhood education of many children and their families.
In 2007, Han was appointed by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa as a commissioner on the Los Angeles Commission on the Status of Women. The Commission serves as a policy body advising the Mayor and City Council on issues that impact women and girls living in the City of Los Angeles, specifically dealing with the health and safety of women and educational attainment among the underserved and most vulnerable populations of the City.
An immigrant from South Korea, Han is a long-time resident of the San Fernando Valley and holds a degree in Business Management from the California State University of Northridge.

The mission of the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce is to empower young professionals of Los Angeles through leadership development, community service and professional enrichment. LAJCC programs serve 15,000 youth annually and provide athletic, arts and educational opportunities which encourage integrity and self-esteem. Sports programs include: L.A. Watts Summer Games, and The First Tee of Los Angeles. Community service projects include the Ready To Learn Literacy Project.
