Excel Maritime Announces Date for the Release of Third Quarter 2011 Results, Conference Call and Webcast

(firmenpresse) - ATHENS, GREECE -- (Marketwire) -- 10/18/11 -- Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd (NYSE: EXM), an owner and operator of dry bulk carriers and a provider of worldwide seaborne transportation services for dry bulk cargoes, announced today that it will release its results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2011 after the market closes in New York on Tuesday, October 25 2011.
On the next day, Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 08:30 A.M. EDT, the Company's management will host a conference call to discuss the results.

Excel is an owner and operator of dry bulk carriers and a provider of worldwide seaborne transportation services for dry bulk cargoes, such as iron ore, coal and grains, as well as bauxite, fertilizers and steel products. Excel owns a fleet of 40 vessels, among which one Capesize vessel is through a majority joint venture and, together with seven Panamax vessels under bareboat charters, operates 47 vessels (7 Capesize, 14 Kamsarmax, 21 Panamax, 2 Supramax and 3 Handymax vessels) with a total carrying capacity of about 4.1 million DWT.
