Continuum Honored at the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award Gala on October 20th in NYC
Global Design and Innovation Consultancy Also to Participate in a Winner's Panel Discussion on Design and Human Behavior on October 18th
(firmenpresse) - BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/18/11 -- Continuum, a and , will receive the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award at a gala event in New York City on October 20th. The award will be presented to Continuum President and Chief Design Officer Gianfranco Zaccai by Herman Miller EVP of Research, Design and Development Don Goeman.
The gala, which is the centerpiece of National Design Week, represents the culmination of a series of events honoring Continuum for receiving the National Design Award, including a White House luncheon hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama last month.
One of only 10 organizations to receive this honor in 2011, the National Design Awards were conceived by the Smithsonian's to celebrate the best in American design. The jury gave Continuum top honors for excellence, innovation and enhancement of the quality of life through such innovative products as Compass, a modular patient room system for Herman Miller, the Omnipod Insulin Management System for Insulet and the Swiffer WetJet for Procter & Gamble.

Continuum will also participate in a winner's panel on October 18th at 7 p.m., moderated by Steven Heller, on the topic of how design inspires, manipulates and alters human behavior and actions. This will take place at the Altman Building, 135 West 8th Street. Advance registration is required.
The National Design Award gala, held at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers, 23rd Street and the Hudson River, begins at 6 p.m., and tickets can be purchased .
