Big Rock Lecture Series: Have a Pint and Learn If Eating is a Conscious Decision?
(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/13/11 -- Big Rock Brewery (TSX: BR) Big Rock University is an annual lecture and dinner series that raises funds for eight University of Calgary undergraduate scholarships. On Wednesday, October 19(th)Big Rock Brewery is delighted to welcome Dr. Yufera-Leitch to the brewery.
Dr. Yufera-Leitch will be talking about the psychology of the appetite. Margaret is an internationally recognized expert on the subject. An engaging and entertaining speaker, she will focus on the science of food craving. Dr. Yufera-Leitch will explore the factors that inspire us to eat. What role does the sight of food play? Why do we prefer 'tasty' foods? What makes us long for a piece of chocolate cake after we have eaten a large meal? By answering these questions, Margaret Yufera-Leitch will delve into the complex and terrifying obesity epidemic. In the process, we will learn about our own relationship to food.
Each semester (Winter/Spring) the Big Rock Lecture series showcases four different lectures (topics range from Historic Shipwrecks to Green Beer and Leprechauns). You can attend the ones that interest you most or you can register for the whole semester - and learn about it all. Plus, no lecture is complete without a gourmet dinner from the Big Rock Grill and a couple of Big Rock beers.
