(firmenpresse) - BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/12/11 -- The 2011 planning team announces that 50 sessions have already been accepted for this year's Jewish learning extravaganza, which will take place at Congregation Mishkan Tefila in Chestnut Hill, MA on December 4, 2011.
At Limmud, everyone is a learner and everyone can propose a session. Some local rabbis who will present include Arthur Green of Hebrew College, Alan Ullman, Leonard Gordon and Ruth Langer. Non-clergy leaders include Judy Klitsner, a Jerusalem scholar from the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Israel, Leonard Fein, founder of Moment Magazine and well-known author, Joel Lurie Grishaver, from Torah Aura Productions. LimmudBoston is a Jewish learning fest of culture and identity. From storytelling, music and meditation to Torah, Kabbalah and Talmud, LimmudBoston offers inspiration and education for beginners and scholars alike. Nearly 700 people of all ages attended last year's LimmudBoston.
Steffi Karp, founder of LimmudBoston, said, "Limmud makes it possible for every facet of the Jewish community, from the secular to very observant, to come together for the common purpose of sharing, learning and growing together." Karp continues, "At Limmud, everyone is a learner and everyone has something to offer."
There is music and programming available for the entire family as well as child care. The grand finale is a 7:00 pm evening concert featuring Kol B'Seder, Josh Nelson and Sue Horowitz, and emceed by Torah maven of Chicago's Second City Comedy Troupe.
The event will take place in the Sukkah at Congregation Mishkan Tefila in Chestnut Hill, MA, at 7PM on Monday night, October 17. Mingling and snacks will be complemented with storytelling by Hal Miller-Jacobs, along with site tours and opportunities to choose day-of-volunteering tasks.
