(firmenpresse) - SARASOTA, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 10/12/11 -- xG® Technology, Inc. ("xG" or the "Company") (AIM: XGTU), the developer of a broad portfolio of wireless communications technologies, including cognitive radio networks, is pleased to announce that it has received a $55,500 sales order from PC3 Solutions, Inc. ("PC3"), a San Ramon, California, based emergency communication and disaster response integrator and developer. The order covers xMax networking equipment that includes xMax wireless access points, xMod mobile data end-user devices and a mobile switching center that will enable PC3 to deploy and evaluate a pilot xMax network designed to meet the rigorous communications requirements of emergency management organizations.

xMax represents a new approach to wireless emergency response communications. By leveraging unlicensed spectrum via advanced cognitive networking techniques, xMax can deliver a licensed spectrum experience using unlicensed spectrum. xMax will deliver a robust, rapidly deployable, cost-effective, carrier-class emergency network communications system to PC3 Solutions and their public safety users.

Commenting on PC3's decision to partner with xG, John Wray, Chief Technology Officer of PC3, said, "As an integrator and developer of rapidly deployable communication solutions for disaster response, we are excited about offering the xMax cognitive radio solution to the disaster response community. xG's solution will allow them to reliably communicate in an otherwise impaired environment."

The PC3 order is the latest in a number of Memoranda of Understanding and purchase orders for xMax networking equipment received by xG from domestic and international communications providers. This order also adds public safety as a new vertical market expressing commercial interest in xG's industry leading technology.

Under the terms of the order, xG will be paid upon delivery of its broadband-enhanced xMax equipment to PC3, which will take place in 2012.
