Inaugural Partners Dell, Intuit and Microsoft Join New Program Focused on Helping Young, High-Growth Potential Startups

(firmenpresse) - WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwire) -- 10/11/11 -- The Startup America Partnership, an organization working to help young companies grow in order to create jobs in America, in collaboration with General Electric (GE), today announced the launch of the Startup-Corporate Connection Program. The Startup America Partnership also welcomes Dell, Intuit and Microsoft as the inaugural partners of the program, which asks corporations to commit to helping America's young, high-growth potential companies.

"America's largest corporations are in an incredible position to help accelerate the progress of high-growth firms," said Scott Case, CEO of the Startup America Partnership. "We commend the Startup-Corporate Connection partners for answering this national call to action to help young companies grow."

The multi-phase program will ask corporations to help startups in one or more ways, including:

Creating customer relationships with America's largest corporations is often on the critical path for young companies. Startup-Corporate Connection partners will benefit from a Trusted Introduction program, through which the Startup America Partnership will connect vetted young companies with a designated employee at the corporation. Corporate partners can commit to a number of activities designed to facilitate interaction between the startup and corporation, including, among other things, providing proactive mentoring and conducting corporate startup events focused on providing platforms to help startups accelerate customer acquisition.

Newer, high growth potential companies are often under the radar of job-seekers, which can make attracting talent a challenge. Corporate partners in the program can commit to assisting the startup in finding top-tier talent by creating 4-star referral programs.

Young firms often experience significant barriers in expanding to new markets. Global firms who become Startup-Corporate Connection partners can commit to helping startups expand their addressable market by focusing on distribution partnerships, accelerating their ability to distribute their products/services on a global scale.

The Startup-Corporate Connection program will be facilitated through the Startup America Partnership's recently launched online platform. Young companies can apply today to become Startup America firms at .

The Startup America Partnership was launched at the White House in response to President Obama's call to celebrate, inspire, and accelerate high-growth entrepreneurship throughout the nation. The Partnership is bringing together an alliance of major corporations, funders, service providers, mentors and advisors working to dramatically increase the prevalence and success of high-growth enterprises in the U.S. AOL co-founder Steve Case chairs the Partnership and the Kauffman and Case Foundations are founding partners. American Express OPEN, Dell Inc., Intuit Inc., and Microsoft are sponsors. The Partnership will identify, measure and report on the effectiveness of cross-sector collaboration in support of entrepreneurial ventures and its effect on job creation and growth.
