Marc Slotnick, Vincent O'Donnell, Jonathan Klein to Receive KPM Innovation Awards
Honorees to Be Recognized at October 25 Affordable Housing Forum
(firmenpresse) - BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/11/11 -- Kevin P. Martin, Jr., Managing Director of Kevin P. Martin & Associates, P.C., announced today the recipients of the KPM 2011 Innovation Award: , President of New England Communities, Inc., , Vice President of Preservation for LISC, and , Esquire of Klein Hornig. The three will be honored on Tuesday, October 25 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in conjunction with KPM's Affordable Housing Forum.
The KPM Innovation Award is presented to these community leaders for their hard work and dedication in the affordable housing industry and for preserving and redeveloping an "old law" Section 202 elderly housing property into a New Model Deal. Kevin Martin, Jr. notes, "Marc, Vince and Jonathan worked tirelessly on the Salem Tower project. Their ability to work with HUD and the entire development team made the preservation and rehabilitation of this project a success."
is President of New England Communities, Inc., which specializes in joint venture development with non-profits and housing authorities of affordable housing; and the redevelopment of state or federal public housing and land including conversion of elderly housing. Mr. Slotnick received an A.B. from Harvard College and J.D. from New York University School of Law. He has received numerous awards and honors for his service in the affordable housing industry.
is Vice President of Preservation at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, a national nonprofit support organization. There he heads a major national initiative to support the preservation of at-risk affordable multifamily housing. Since 2001, this program has provided financing commitments of $100 million to preserve more than 20,000 units of at-risk housing, and established LISC as a national preservation leader.
has been responsible for a wide variety of affordable housing transactions, including many dozens of tax credit projects in various states, creation and management of tax credit funds, 501(c)(3) and private activity bond transactions. Mr. Klein obtained a BSG from the University Of Michigan College Of Literature Science and the Arts, and a JD, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.
