Media Advisory: NATO-Sponsored 2011 North American Technology Demonstration to Showcase Leading-Edge Non-Lethal Capabilities
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 10/07/11 -- The Department of National Defence and the United States Department of Defense's Non-Lethal Weapons Program will co-host the NATO-sponsored 2011 North American Technology Demonstration (NATD) from October 25 to 27, in Ottawa, Ontario.
As NATO's largest international non-lethal capabilities technology showcase, the NATD offers members of the operational and armaments communities of NATO, other allies and law enforcement communities the opportunity to see and touch the latest technology in the field of non-lethal capabilities.
Showcased non-lethal capabilities are expected to fall into the categories of pyrotechnics, blunt force weapons, irritants, irritant delivery systems, energy weapons, loudhailers, lights, lasers, personnel dispersion systems, personnel restraining systems, vehicle arresting systems, combination platforms and control systems. Developing technologies may also be on display.
The event will consist of NATO working group meetings on Day 1, a static display and conference program on Day 2, and a table-top exhibit and dynamic demonstration on Day 3 that will feature short dramatizations to help illustrate how various non-lethal technologies can be applied to practical operational settings.
To date, the NATD has registered approximately 800 attendees and 90 exhibitors from some 27 NATO and allied nations.
