ITT Awards KBOSSS Subcontract to The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates for Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
(firmenpresse) - WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwire) -- 10/06/11 -- The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (GW-MFA) today announced a definitive agreement with ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) to manage the EMS system on the U.S. Military facilities in Kuwait, a subcontract valued at an estimated $76 million. The agreement is part of the Kuwait Base Operations & Security Support Services (KBOSSS) contract, awarded to ITT by the U.S. Army Rock Island Contracting Center and worth an estimated $1.4 billion with all options exercised.
The GW-MFA will staff and manage a 17 ambulance system with Nationally Registered EMT-Paramedics and EMT-Basics on eight U.S. Military bases throughout the Area Support Group - Kuwait. The operation will provide coverage 24 hours, 7 days a week in support of military personnel on base as well as those in the surrounding area in need of emergent treatment and transport. This represents one of several partnership agreements between the GW-MFA Department of Emergency Medicine and ITT, further establishing the Department's role as a leading provider of medical .

In addition to the clinical role on base, the Department also provides for physicians, physician assistants, and nurses, and basic and advanced life support providers throughout the region. The Department conducts training and certification for National Registry EMT-B in Washington, DC, Kuwait and the Philippines.
