Sun Digital and Brothers Keeper Helping the Environment and the Hungry in Marion County
(firmenpresse) - OCALA, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 10/06/11 -- Sun Digital, Inc. and Brothers Keeper have joined efforts to help the environment and feed the impoverished in Marion County. On Wednesday, October 19th, Sun Digital is holding a combination event that includes both an and to benefit Brothers Keeper. Brothers Keeper is a social outreach ministry of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church that helps the needy and homeless with emergency assistance and a daily soup kitchen.
"After reading some recent reports which showed that and Florida ranked 10th in the nation for , where 27.5% of children in Florida worry every day if they are going to eat, we knew Brothers Keeper was the right charity to partner with for this electronics recycling event," states Jim Bolain, owner of Sun Digital, a local IT and Cloud Solutions provider in Ocala, Florida.
For the October 19th event the local community will be able to donate old electronic equipment to help raise money for Brothers Keeper, as well as drop off food items that will be used to replenish Brothers Keeper food pantry.
"We believe this will be one of the most important fundraisers we have done, no person and especially our children should worry if they are going to eat today," Jim Bolain further adds.
With the electronics recycling events this year, Sun Digital has helped to keep 2.5 tons of electronic waste out of Florida landfills and raise money for local charities. They hope to increase this by 2 tons with the upcoming event, getting them close to achieving their Green IT for 2011.
