The Everbridge Emergency Notification System Kept Millions of East Coast Residents Out of Danger During Hurricane Irene
State of Connecticut's First Responders Relied on Everbridge to Notify Residents and Coordinate Response Efforts

During the storm, Everbridge successfully delivered nearly 5 million messages to residents, businesses, and first responders along the East Coast. Of the millions of messages delivered, 59% were sent to voice-enabled devices such as landlines or mobile phones, and 41% of messages were sent to text paths, such as email, SMS text, and more.
The State of Connecticut's notification program is the single largest statewide emergency notification system (ENS) deployment, covering all 3.6 million Connecticut residents and is utilized by the State's emergency first responders.

"It provided a critical communication tool for coordinating our response efforts and outreach to the community during Irene."
Days prior to Hurricane Irene's landfall, Connecticut Governor Daniel P. Malloy encouraged residents to register additional contact points on the State's to provide multiple ways to reach them. As a result, officials saw a dramatic 57% increase in resident opt-in participation over the two days leading up to Hurricane Irene.
"We relied on the Everbridge system during Hurricane Irene to provide rapid, real-time information to West Haven residents to keep them safe," said R.
