Landlords Should Ensure the Interior of Student Houses Are Up to Scratch, Says Lima

The UK rental market is currently in a strong position and in some areas there are more students in search of accommodation than is available. Carpets that have become threadbare, peeling wallpaper, marked walls, and sofas or mattresses with broken springs are just a few common issues that landlords should address immediately for leaseholders.
Not only could properties fetch that little extra in rent if the interior is maintained to a high standard, it is likely tenants, students or professionals, will mirror this attention, therefore showing much more care in keeping it clean and tidy; not least because they do not want to lose their deposit. This means that keeping on top of repairs and decoration can save money in the long run.
Zoltan continued: "Landlords who have multiple properties can certainly save money by revamping them all at once and Christmas holidays will be the next ideal opportunity to do the more disruptive jobs like replacing carpets or painting. Instead of buying items at the lowest possible cost, which may need replacing again before too long, consider rental refurbishment as an investment; if tenants are unhappy with their surroundings they will be looking elsewhere before too long."
