Media Advisory: Canada and UN Women Co-Host Closing News Conference Following Conference on Women's Economic Empowerment
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 10/05/11 -- Canada and UN Women are co-hosting the Conference on Women's Economic Empowerment in Ottawa from October 3 to 5, 2011.
The Conference is focused on ways of opening economies to the full participation of women and on the tools needed for women to take advantage of and benefit from these economic opportunities. The results of the Conference will inform the activities and planning of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and UN Women.
A closing news conference will be held by Minister Oda and John Hendra, Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Executive Director, Policy and Program, UN Women.
Also to note, Minister Oda made an announcement regarding East Africa earlier today in Montreal.
