The Campus Consciousness Tour (CCT) is half music, half environmental/social consciousness campaign aimed to inspire and activate students in a fun and exciting atmosphere while leaving a positive impact on each community and college that the tour reaches. Created in 2006 by the environmental non-profit group, Reverb, past headlining artists include Drake, Wiz Khallifa, Passion Pit, Ben Harper, Guster, and O.A.R.
A ground-breaking, genre-blurring singer, songwriter, producer, and performer, Janelle Monáe's inventive style melds a refined pop sensibility with an extraordinary postmodern mash-up of soul, funk, and rock n roll. Her debut album "The ArchAndroid" was released to worldwide critical acclaim, garnering Monàe two GRAMMY Nominations. "The ArchAndroid" was produced by Janelle Monáe, Chuck Lightning, Nate Wonder & Sean Diddy Combs with Co-Executive Producer Antwan "Big Boi" Patton. It features appearances by an array of talented artists including "Big Boi" of Outkast, who was featured on the infectious GRAMMY-nominated lead single "Tightrope," as well as renowned poet Saul Williams, the psychedelic dance-punk troupe Of Montreal, the punk prophets Deep Cotton, and the Wondaland ArchOrchestra.
In addition to releasing her album, Ms. Monáe, who has developed a reputation for her incredibly dynamic live shows, has spent the past two years touring with a collection of diverse artists such as Of Montreal, Erykah Badu, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry and the one and only Prince.
