Lucky Seven for Howe Sound Brewing at 2011 Canadian Brewing Awards
(firmenpresse) - SQUAMISH, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/04/11 -- Howe Sound Brewing Company, from Squamish, BC, won a competition-high seven awards at the Canadian Brewing Awards, held in Toronto, Ontario. The awards were announced September 9. The Canadian Brewing Awards are Canada's premiere beer competition, judging beers from across Canada in 31 style categories. This year, 109 Canadian breweries from coast to coast competed with BC breweries taking home 34 awards.
Howe Sound won awards for the following beers: Howe Sound Lager (Bronze); Garibaldi Honey Pale Ale (Bronze); Woolly Bugger Barleywine (Bronze); Baldwin and Cooper Best Bitter (Silver); Megadestroyer Imperial Licorice Stout (Silver); Pumpkineater Imperial Pumpkin Ale (Silver); and Diamond Head Oatmeal Stout (Silver).
Howe Sound Brewery Manager, Paul Wilson, attended the awards ceremony in Toronto. "It was a great event and competition with some fabulous beers. BC breweries performed very well, and we're certainly very proud that our beers performed so well in a national blind-tasting competition," Wilson said.
Howe Sound Brewing is a family-owned craft brewery located in Squamish, BC, brewing 26 different artisan ales and distributing a full-range of lagers and ales in Canada and the United States, specifically Washington, Oregon and Minnesota.
